The Factory at Franklin is showcasing the work of two celebrated creative voices from now through the end of September: John Carter Cash and Jim Messina. The rotating Factory Gallery Wall can be found outside Liberty Hall – and select pieces will be available for purchase.
ShenShen, the artist who curated this exhibit in partnership with the Williamson County Arts Council, created the installation with the intention of complementing The Red Wheel songwriter series. The idea is to feature acclaimed songwriters whose artistic expression extends beyond music and into the visual arts.

Joining John Carter Cash and Jim Messina in the exhibition is artist Madeline Kiel, whose compelling work adds another dimension to the gallery wall and reflects the vibrant artist talent found throughout the community.
John Carter Cash makes his Factory Gallery debut with selections from his evocative art collection, Dark Hallways. An accomplished producer, musician, author and artist, Cash’s paintings explore themes of memory, transition, resilience and emotional landscapes through recurring architectural forms such as hallways, doors and corridors. Working primarily in oil, his expressive use of color and texture invites viewers to reflect on the internal spaces we all navigate.
Visitors may be able to meet John Carter Cash during the September 4 Art Crawl at The Factory.

The son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, John Carter Cash has built a distinguished career of his own, earning two Grammy Awards and producing records for artists like Loretta Lynn, Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris and Brooks & Dunn.
During this current installation at The Factory, visitors will also find artwork by legendary singer-songwriter and producer Jim Messina. His career has spanned more than five decades and he is recognized as one of America’s most influential musicians and producers. His visual art reflects the same creativity and thoughtful craftsmanship that has defined his musical career, offering a glimpse into another facet of his artistic expression.
The Factory Gallery Wall is free and open to the public during The Factory’s regular operating hours.
